From what I saw so far you/we should organize workshop not on RPM packaging but rather on the overall workflow. How to fetch patches/use git, how to handle backtraces, how to build in koji, how to use issue trackers, how to check for other distributions, etc. RPM and spec-files are simple, but the entire packager;s workflow is complex.

This is an entry-level workshop. For people who haven’t yet packaged or have some small experience with RPM or packaged for other distributions. Last year, we also organized a follow-up workshop which was more advanced and where some of the things you mention were.
If there is demand, we’ll do it again.

Actually we always try to explain at least workflow basics.

Please, please, please organize an easy to understand (in almost stupid-easy English) web site that explains this process. I have tried reading some RPM packaging web sites, but they seem to be for people that know a lot more than I do and can’t make any sense of it.

That way you could maybe offer help to more than just 20.

    Thank you.
